Acceptance of orders starts on November 30, but the prices are already known. For diesel hatchbacks x 30d (249 hp) they ask from 5,420,000 rubles, for 400-horsepower M50d - at least 6.61 million. The initial petrol version x 40i (340 hp) is estimated at 5,520,000 rubles, M50i with a V8 with a capacity of 530 "horses "pulls at 6.77 million.

At one time, it was the BMW X6 that shaped the fashion for large hatch crossovers. The car of the first generation (see "History") was produced in the absence of rivals, and only to the release of the second "X-sixth" followers began to appear. Now they are springing up like mushrooms after the rain, the competition has intensified, and BMW is forced to renew itself every five years. And if the previous X6 of the F16 series can be considered a product of a deep modernization of the E71, then the current G06, built on the CLAR platform, is truly new.

The X6 did not have common body panels with the "X-fifth" before, but this time every effort was made to make the hatchback look original. Perhaps, the designers even overdid it: look at the bustle of lines in the back ... The highlight is the luminous radiator grill: they say, this is the first time such a solution has been applied in series. But a similar option is offered for a surcharge for the current fifth-series G30, not to mention the fact that the star has been burning on the forehead of some Mercedes since 2013. Another thing is that neither the "five", nor the Benzes have the right to drive with the backlight on. And the X6 has, thanks to the competent homologation. Isn't that right, Your Excellency?

The increase in size compared to its predecessor almost did not add internal freedom: the unregulated rear row of the hatchback still cannot be called spacious. And the trunk did not add a liter. All the same, the crossover substitutes dirty thresholds under the passengers' feet. The interior differs from the familiar X5 cabin in a few points. Re-cut door panels now have grippy handrails to compensate for the lack of handles on the ceiling. When the door is open, the illumination built into the handrails switches to signal light mode: it turns red and starts blinking.

A different frame and seat installation changed the fit. With the chair lowered as much as possible, with a height of 170 cm, I no longer have enough steering wheel height adjustment. In "X-fifth" I am placed without problems. Other disadvantages, alas, are typical for other BMWs of the new wave. The climate control unit with glare displays and small buttons is not very convenient, the dashboard is poorly arranged. But I unconditionally like the numbered buttons on the center console: the quick call is valid not only for radio stations, but also for addresses in the navigator or even selected menu items.

Visibility, although acceptable, is still worse than in the "X-fifth" because of the obtrusive front struts located closer to the driver. The view into the interior mirror is spoiled by headrests and a low top window sill. In the parking lot, life is made easier by a 360-degree view system with a great picture - at least as long as the unwashed cameras are clean. There is also a parking assistant that remembers the last 50 meters of the path, which allows you to reversing out of the parking lot in automatic mode.
